Areas of Practice:

Mr. Day is a member of the firm’s Grand Rapids office and is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, and in the United States District Court for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.  Mr. Day has also been admitted pro-hac vice in Arkansas, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Mr. Day’s practice of 20 years has involved numerous aspects of insurance law, including first party and third party litigation.  Mr. Day has tried numerous cases involving arson, fraud, and a wide variety of coverage issues.

Among the issues involved in coverage cases were the applicability of the intentional acts exclusion to a murder/suicide, whether coverage was afforded to a doctor and his staff under a CGL Policy for the intravenous administration of herbal tea which resulted in the death of a patient and whether a blanket property policy afforded coverage for over 1.3 million dollars worth of missing cattle.

Mr. Day has also tried/litigated numerous liability defense cases including automobile liability, homeowner liability, product liability and professional errors and omissions cases.

Mr. Day was formerly with the firm of Morrison, Mahoney & Miller, LLP working out of its Grand Rapids office.
